Repairs and updates continue to the sanctuary, Beverly Building, and parsonage.
Many of these involve building infrastructure so they aren’t readily apparent. The most noticeable are to the main building. The front doors have been refinished (pictured last week); there’s been work to the corner of the roof, which was about to fall off; and an eight-foot section under the chimney that was rotting out is being repaired.
In the Beverly Building, the aging fuse box was replaced with a modern breaker box.
In the parsonage, the failing hot water heater along with fixtures in both bathrooms were replaced. Also, the leak-damaged ceiling in the kitchen was repaired and the light/fan combo replaced.
Our thanks to all involved in these projects including the building committee of Tom Gillard, chair; Jason Smith, and Tony Carlton, onsite coordinator. Ricky Peck and his crew are doing an excellent making the repairs happen, and to Gex Diuguid for loaning the church his lift to reach the roof.
Anyone who would like to give an over-and-above gift should note on the check or envelope it’s for “Building Repair.” In next week’s issue we will highlight the projects that have been completed or are underway.
