Following the unanimous vote last Sunday approving the cashing in of a $7,500 CD, much-needed repairs and updates to the sanctuary, Beverly Building, and parsonage are underway. Local contractor Ricky Peck and his crew have been hard at it every day with
Tony Carlton acting as the coordinator.
We were blessed, too, with an anonymous gift of $5,000 designated for this project,
bringing the total available to $12,500!
Also, Gex Diuguid loaned his lift to reach the corner of the roof that’s to be repaired,
which will save another $1,000 from the
original estimate – the cost of renting a lift for a week.
Anyone who would like to give an over-and-above gift should note on the check or envelope it’s for “Building Repair.” In next week’s issue we will highlight the projects that have been completed or are underway.
***Janie Stout took this picture of the refinished doors, kickplate and handles. The entire entry has been repainted. I wish we had a “before” picture! This is one aspect of the project.
